Denver has much to do and see, including outstanding dining, a growing nightlife scene, and lots of fabulous food options. When it comes to shopping, the most luxurious of options is Cherry Creek Mall, with over 160 shops and 40 exclusive shops, it is the premier shopping in the area. For another option, located in Downtown Denver, consider 16th Street Mall, a pedestrian-friendly location with shops and restaurants.

For good food, check out Nocturne, a bi-level eatery and lounge noted for its jazz experiences. Flagstaff House Restaurant is another must on the foodie scene. It serves New American cuisine with some of the most breathtaking views – all at 6000 feet elevation.

Things to Do

Denver is filled with things to experience as an urban city. The cultural scene here is strong, with several notable and world-renown destinations. The Denver Museum of Art is one of those. It's spectacular in its exhibits. The Denver Museum of Nature and Sciences and the Denver Botanic Gardens are also exquisite destinations to visit, tour, and learn.

For those seeking some time on the green, several golf clubs exist here, including:

  • Bear Creek Golf Club: This 211-acre, 18-hole golf course is filled with incredible views and rugged terrain. It’s hilly and stunning. This private course was designed by the architectural team of Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. It’s quite well maintained.
  • Cherry Hills Country Club: Cherry Hills Country Club is was founded in 1922, but it’s been updated and modernized over the years to make it one of the most special courses in the area. It offers a fantastic clubhouse, pool, and luxury amenities for members.
  • Cherry Creek Country Club: The Cherry Creek Country Club is a members-only location offering some outstanding green play, a fitness center, exceptional dining, a pro shop, and plenty of social activities. It’s the place to meet to discuss business or spend time with the entire family.

Looking beyond the golf courses, there’s much more to see and do here. The Denver Underground Music Showcase is a treasure here. It’s a one-day local-only concert that showcases the diverse music of Denver. As a growing food mecca, Denver’s A Taste of Colorado, which happens each September, is an excellent event held at Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park.


Denver Public Schools provided education for about 92,000 students across 92 elementary schools, 44 K-8 schools, 18 high schools, 34 middle schools, and an additional 19 charter schools. Cherry Creek School District serves some of the area as well. Bromwell Elementary School, Denver East High School, Montessori School of Denver, and Odyssey School of Denver are just a few. The city is also home to the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Johnson & Wales University.
