Castle Pines is a city in Douglas County within the Denver metro area. It’s just to the north of Castle Rock and south of Lone Tree. There's much to be inspired by in this community, from the wildlife to the true four seasons represented here. Though a smaller city in population, it’s ideal for those looking for beautiful homes, ample green space, and outstanding quality of life.
The real estate market here includes most property types, from condos and townhomes to large estates. Single-family homes are available in subdivisions and on large, private lots. Many are custom-built homes with expansive views and ample outdoor space.

Spending a day on the golf course
Great opportunities for water recreation
Life in Castle Pines is quite rewarding and laid back, though many residents are quite active and engaged with the outdoors, wildlife, and other amenities like golf. It's common to meet friends for a tee time, enjoy some time at the clubhouse, and meet with the family for a lavish dinner. Dramatic views from the sandstone cliffs and wildflowers encourage many to talk and bike in the area, especially those views of the Front Range. Still, many people living here are quite busy with an active lifestyle in Denver, which is only 15 minutes away.
As a burgeoning city, Castle Pines has a few areas of shopping and dining to explore. Castle Pines Village Square is at the heart of it. A few restaurants, shops, and specialty grocers are in this shopping district. Other shopping options include Park Meadows Retail Resort, about 10 miles north of the city and the largest shopping mall in the state, and The Outlets at Castle Rock, just a few minutes away and boasting some 100 stores.
For food, try out Pino’s Italian Kitchen and Bar, one of the best locations for a fine Italian meal and a glass of wine. It’s noted for its hospitality and authentic ingredients. Rockyard Brewing Co. is a more laid-back option but with excellent food and some of the best craft brews in the city.
For many, Castle Pines is all about the golf. There are a number of golf courses and communities in the area, including:
Aside from the golf, the area offers many other activities and things to do, including exploring the Cherry Creek Reservoir, an 880-surface acre reservoir with rolling hills, and ample space to play. It's possible to learn to sail on these waters or just take to the water for all of the favorite watersports. Elk Ridge Park is a fun option – located next to a kid-approved splash pad that offers lots of green space, a playground, and a fitness course. Yet another opportunity is to visit Castlewood Canyon park, especially for hiking, photography, or rocking climbing.
The Douglas County School District provides for students in Castle Pines. There are a number of schools here, including Castle Pines Academy, American Academy, Buffalo Ridge Elementary, and DCS Montessori.
